What are LibGuides?

"Libguides" (also known as "Research Guides" here at TNCC) is the amazingly popular, easy to use, web 2.0 library knowledge sharing system. Librarians and faculty use it to create attractive multimedia content, share knowledge and information, and promote library resources to the college community.

These guides usually contain listings of recommended resources for finding information such as books, eBooks, databases, or relevant websites.

LibGuides can be created for a specific subject area, subtopic area, a specific class, or even a specific class assignment.  And LibGuides can be embedded and linked into BlackBoard.

LibGuides can also be used to gain fluency in using a certain research tool or technique.

Research Guides can be created to include information related a particular:

  • Curriculum
  • Class
  • Class Assignment
  • Resource

If you're interested in working with the library to create a Research Guide please contact our LibGuide team. We will be happy to consult with you on the information you'd like to present as well as the related resources we have.
