  • Media Equipment Checkout Policy

    Media equipment is available for checkout to current TNCC student, faculty or staff members. Equipment is not available for checkout to community patrons.

    Media Equipment includes:

    • DSLR camera with EF-S 18-55mm lens
    • EF 75-300mm lens
    • Point-and-shoot camera
    • Handheld video camera
    • Compact video camera (includes tripod/accessory pack and SD card)
    • Tripod

    The DSLR and handheld video cameras are available to faculty and staff only.  The point and shoot camera and compact video camera are available to students, faculty and staff.

    The loan period for faculty will be 28 days with one renewal. The loan period for students will be 14 days with no renewals. Cameras cannot be reserved ahead of time (i.e. no holds allowed).

    Checkout of media equipment will include cases, accessories and cables as applicable. An inventory of all pieces will be provided at time of checkout.

    Borrowers must provide their own SD card with the exception of the Compact Video Camera.

    Borrowers must sign a “Media Equipment Loan Agreement” at each checkout acknowledging financial responsibility for lost or damaged equipment.

    Media Equipment must be returned in person to the circulation desk at the campus at which they were originally checked out. Cameras may not be returned in the book drop.

    Borrowers are responsible for damage or loss of the equipment and/or any accompanying parts while the equipment is checked out. Damage or loss will result in a replacement charge.

    When items are more than 28 days (4 weeks) overdue, borrowers will not be permitted to register for classes and the college will not issue transcripts, certificates, or degrees to students until all overdue materials are returned or all amounts owed to the college paid in full.

    Items more than 56 days (8 weeks) overdue are considered lost and incur a mandatory, per-item replacement fee (see schedule below)  plus a 15.5% non-refundable collection fee.  At this time accounts will be and accounts will be turned over to the college business office and reported to the State Department of Taxation, and any state refunds or payments will be held until replacement fees are paid.  In addition, a hold will be placed against student accounts which will prevent the ability to register, request transcripts, and graduate until all obligations have been satisfied
