You can request the report online, over the phone or by mail. You can get one free copy per year from each of the three credit agencies. This report will contain information about who is checking your credit (usually if you apply for loans of credit cards) as well as all the information each agency has on you and your credit history. This information is what they report when a lender asks about you. By checking your report once a year you can keep a look out for errors that may affect your ability to receive credit and to watch out for identity theft.
